Launching in 2025, Disney Adventure is an all-new venture for Disney Cruise Line. The 208,000-gross-ton ship, carrying 6,700 passengers, will be more than twice the size of some of the other vessels in the cruise line's fleet, and about 30 percent larger than Disney Cruise Line's current biggest vessels, such as the 4,000-passenger Disney Wish launched in 2022.

That's because Disney Adventure -- which is being built in MV Werften shipyard in Wismar, Germany -- didn't start out as a ship for Disney Cruise Line. When construction began in 2018, the ship was slated to become Global Dream, the fourth ship for the now-defunct cruise line Dream Cruises.

In another first for Disney Cruise Line, Disney Adventure will be the first ship based in Asia, which also happened to be the plan for Global Dream. It has been confirmed the ship will homeport in Singapore for at least five years beginning in 2025, signaling Disney's intention to cater to the Asian market.

Disney Adventure's Deck Plans Include New Themed Areas

Disney Adventure will showcase new areas based around the themes of imagination, discovery, fantasy and -- unsurprisingly -- adventure.

The heart of the vessel will be Disney Imagination Garden, a gathering space and open-air performance venue inspired by Disney adventures and characters such as ocean girl Moana and Mowgli from "The Jungle Book".

Another hub, Town Square, will celebrate Disney royals -- with nods to "Tangled", "Cinderella", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and "The Princess and the Frog" -- in a forest environment comprising shops, lounges, cafes, restaurants and entertainment venues.

Disney Discovery Reef is a shopping and dining area with aquatic characters and nautical stories from the Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios including "The Little Mermaid", "Lilo & Stitch", "Finding Nemo" and "Luca". Taking its lead from "Big Hero 6 ", the first Disney animated film featuring Marvel Comics characters, is San Fransokyo Street. The family entertainment area will include a colorful street market, interactive games and activities, shops and cinemas.

Wayfinder Bay, described by Disney as "the line where the sky meets the sea", is a Pacific-themed poolside retreat with entertainment offerings and uninterrupted ocean views. Back inside the ship, Marvel Landing will offer new Super Heroes' attractions and experiences and Toy Story Place is an interactive playland for families and younger children with food venues and water play areas themed around the "Toy Story" movie.

Disney Adventure will have approximately 2,350 staterooms, and the line has yet to reveal full details of the cabin and suite categories. Similarly, information about restaurants and bars will be released closer to the launch date.

The ship will be powered by green methanol, considered one of the lowest-emission fuels on the market. This feature also sets Disney Adventure apart from the other ships in the cruise line's fleet.

When Will Disney Adventure Make its Maiden Voyage?

Disney Adventure is scheduled to be delivered in 2025, embarking soon after on its maiden voyage from Singapore. The date and full details of the inaugural sailing will be announced at a later date.

What Itineraries will Disney Adventure Sail?

Disney Adventure will sail three- and four-night itineraries from Singapore's Marina Bay Cruise Centre for at least five years as part of the collaboration between Disney Cruise Line and Singapore Tourism Board. Although Disney is yet to release full details of the itineraries for Disney Adventure, cruises are expected to focus on the Southeast Asia region and include visits to some the region's 40 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Disney Adventure Specs
